Programmers are bound to make an impact on the Romanian administration
When it comes to governmental institutions, there's always room for more ideas and innovative solutions. This time we are talking about a major step regarding Romania's administration: the Government tries to develop a new platform called GovITHub, which is designed to simplify all aspects regarding the Romanian public administration.
The Prime minister of Romania is trying to gather talented IT specialists from the private sector (and not only) and to build a team of young, creative IT specialists, who are willing to take a break from their professional activities from the private sector on a voluntary basis, or through a scholarship worth 2000 EUR per month, offered by the state for a period of 6 months.
Romania is internationally renowned for its outstanding performance in the IT sector, however the national administration is striving to keep up with the technological advancements. So the main reason that triggered this decision is the accelerated expansion of the IT sector (which recently surpassed Romania's agricultural sector, in terms of total contribution to GDP).
GovITHub sounds like a really cool idea, and we hope that this new approach will update the entire administrative infrastructure, to be a bit more user friendly and accessible.
